Fatal Frame 5 Producer Hopes The Success of Game Leads To a Sequel
Fatal Frame 5 producer Keisuke Kikuchi hopes that the success of the game will lead to a sequel in the future. He talked about this in a new interview.
In an interview with Famitsu (via), we learn that the 20th-anniversary release for Fatal Frame 5 can lead to a sequel if the sales are good enough. When asked the response to the game will lead to more games in the series, the producer gave the following answer.
“I hope so. This time we’re offering it as a 20th-anniversary project. We hope that many players will take this opportunity to play the game and that it will lead to the next one.”
One of the reasons they are bringing the game to so many platforms is to increase the player base. This is why it is being released on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. FF5 was previously exclusive to the Nintendo Wii U, while the other Fatal Frame games were also exclusive to either PlayStation consoles, or other Nintendo hardware.
“The reason we increased the number of supported hardware is because we want more players to play the game, ” said Keisuke Kikuchi.
Fatal Frame 5: Maiden of Black Water is set to launch for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PC, and Nintendo Switch on October 28, 2021.
