Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 Is Already In Development, Confirms Producer
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a multi-part series and the first game is out now for PS4. The sequel is already in development according to the game’s producer.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is finally available to play on the PS4. The game was originally announced back in 2015 and has finally launched after more than four years of its original announcement. It is the first game in a multi-part remake where each game will offer the same amount of content as a mainline Final Fantasy game.
Final Fantasy series producer Yoshinori Kitase, who is also the producer on this Remake, has recently confirmed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that they are already hard at work on the sequel.
“Development is already moving forward for the next game in the [Final Fantasy] remake project, ” confirmed Kitase in an interview to Entertainment Weekly. This shouldn’t come as a surprise considering how the game is a massive success, shipping more than 3.5 million copies worldwide in just three days.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake co-game director, Naoki Hamaguchi was also present in the interview and offered his insight on what he thinks about this Remake.
“I believe that the purpose of a remake is to offer a title that has a universally beloved world to people of the current generation so that they can have an experience that’s just as surprising and moving as it was back then, and leave that title behind as a form of entertainment to be handed down for the next two decades to come,” Hamaguchi told Entertainment Weekly.
“The animated version of Beauty and the Beast was relatively close in generation to the original Final Fantasy VII, so I found it very insightful in how it treated the original with respect while being very thoughtful in its portrayals.”
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is available now for the PS4. It will be a timed exclusive that will launch on other platforms one year after the release of the PS4 version.
