Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Launches September 17

by Greg Martin

Nintendo has announced Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, a new mainline entry in the long-running strategy RPG series, set to launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17.

The game centers around the Heroic Games, a competition that serves as the backdrop for a new story featuring four protagonists. Players will follow Cai, a young boy attempting to rescue his imprisoned father; Dietrich, a wandering swordsman searching for worthy opponents; Theodora, a queen pursuing a dream long cherished by her nation; and Leda, a musician driven by a desire for revenge. Their stories will gradually intertwine as the events of the Heroic Games unfold.

Outside of battle, players will be able to explore the capital city of Dagsion, which serves as the game’s central hub. The city offers a variety of activities, including training opportunities to learn new combat techniques and locations where players can build relationships with characters in order to recruit additional allies. Adventurers can also venture beyond the city’s walls to take on challenges and gain extra experience for their growing army.

Nintendo says the game will combine strategic combat with character-driven storytelling and exploration, giving players opportunities to strengthen their forces both on and off the battlefield as they progress through the campaign.

Alongside the standard edition, Nintendo will release the Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Dagdan Collection. The special edition includes a steel game case, a set of character art cards, a map of Dagda, and an artbook featuring artwork from the game.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launches for Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17. Digital pre-orders are scheduled to open later today through the Nintendo eShop.
