Nintendo has revealed new content plans for Pokémon Pokopia, including a free update arriving this August and the launch of the game’s first paid expansion pass.
The upcoming free update will expand the game’s world beneath the waves, allowing players to explore the ocean floor using a new ability called Dive. With the new feature, players can establish underwater communities by planting grass, constructing buildings, and creating their own towns while living alongside Pokémon in a new aquatic environment.
Alongside the free content update, Nintendo also announced the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, a paid DLC package that will be released in three separate parts. The first expansion, titled Bubbly Basin, is scheduled to launch in August.
Bubbly Basin will introduce a new underwater town for players to discover, bringing additional customization options and new Pokémon companions. The expansion will include fresh furniture items, new outfits, and more Pokémon residents to befriend as players continue building and expanding their communities.
Nintendo confirmed that the Expansion Pass will become available for purchase later today through the Nintendo eShop. More details regarding the remaining two expansion packs included in the pass have yet to be announced.
