The Forza Horizon 6 British Automotive update is now available, introducing a new permanent Drift Attack feature alongside additional cars, Festival Playlist rewards, and gameplay improvements. Playground Games released the update on September 7, with the British Automotive Festival Playlist scheduled to begin on September 10.
Drift Attack combines elements of Drift Zones and Horizon Drift, challenging players to earn as many drift points as possible during a single lap. The activity takes place at the Shimanoyama Circuit, which has been converted into a permanent Drift Attack location and can be accessed directly from the open world without a loading screen.
Players can attempt Drift Attack alone, with a Convoy, or alongside other players in the Shared World. The objective is to achieve the highest score possible, with no restriction on the number of laps that can be completed. The circuit also features Clipping Zones that provide bonus points when players maintain a drift within their boundaries.
Drift Attack is connected to the Horizon Festival Campaign and becomes available after obtaining the Yellow Wristband. Completing it in the Collection Journal unlocks a Drift Attack Racesuit and Helmet, along with the new 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition. A standard version of the Jaguar XJ-S has also been added permanently to the Autoshow.
The British Automotive update also introduces the British Automotive Takeover at the Aftermarket dealership near the Horizon Stadium in the Shimanoyama region. Players can purchase a selection of British cars there, while the dealership will also feature the 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera and 1961 Jaguar E-type, which are normally obtained through Wheelspins.
The Festival Playlist adds 10 Series Reward cars, including 3 vehicles making their debut in Forza Horizon 6. These are the 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed, 2019 Ginetta G40 Junior, and 2006 Vauxhall Astra VXR. Returning vehicles include the 2015 Jaguar XKR-S GT and 2002 Lotus Esprit V8, while the 2019 Aston Martin Valhalla Concept Car and 2016 Bentley Bentayga are available as Wheelspin-exclusive cars.
The Playlist also includes new customization rewards. Players can unlock the Retro Racesuit through the first week’s JaguarSnap Photo Challenge and the Classic Jacket during the second week’s Seasonal Hide & Seek activity. A Drift Tire Mascot Collectible will appear in the Shimanoyama region during the second week, while playing during the British Automotive Festival Playlist series will also unlock the Lionheart Player Badge.
The update expands the Car Pass lineup as well. Four vehicles are scheduled to arrive over the next four weeks, beginning with the 2025 McLaren W1 on September 10, followed by the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 on September 17, the 1998 Renault Sport Spider on September 24, and the 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe “Luftauto 002” on October 1.
The McLaren W1 is particularly notable for its new advanced paint options, allowing players to customize individual parts of the vehicle. It has a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine producing 1,258 horsepower and 987 lb-ft of torque, with a stock R 918 rating and rear-wheel drive.
The update also includes several gameplay and technical improvements based on player feedback. Playground Games has fixed an issue involving incorrectly positioned wheels, added the ability to select audio and subtitle languages independently, addressed missing player character models in cars at lower PC graphics settings, and improved car rendering quality for players using the High graphics preset on PC.
The British Automotive update is available on Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app on PC, and Steam. The update became available for download on September 7 at 5:00 PM UTC, with the associated Festival Playlist beginning September 10 at 2:30 PM UTC.
Playground Games has also teased what is coming next to Forza Horizon 6. The October Series Update will be themed around Horizon Meets and will feature a temporary 7-Eleven Konbini Evolving World, a permanent EventLab Content Pack, additional cars, and new profile Badges.
