One of the prominent games leaving Xbox Game Pass by April 1, 2023 is Double Dragon Neon, a 2012 beat ’em up video game in the Double Dragon series. This Double Dragon series reboot was created by WayForward Technologies and released by Majesco Entertainment. Since Techn’s Japan had ceased operations, Million, the previous owner of the Double Dragon series, had no involvement in the creation of the game until this one. In 2015, Arc System Works acquired all of Techn’s Japan’s intellectual property along with the rights to the television series.

Yoshihisa Kishimoto, the creator of the series, was consulted during the game’s development and called Neon “a very western adaptation of Double Dragon” with some gameplay elements borrowed from earlier titles and a “mood and feel” reminiscent of the original arcade game.

Much like in previous entries, players control martial artists Billy Lee (Player 1) and Jimmy Lee (Player 2), as they battle to free Marian from the Shadow Warriors gang, this time led by the super-lich Skullmageddon. The journey begins on city streets, taking players through a genetics lab, a graveyard, an Asian countryside, an outer space dojo, and city streets before arriving at Skullmageddon’s palace.
