The Gears of War devs have granted affected players 15,000 Coins in Gears of War: E-Day following access issues that prevented some users from playing. The compensation follows a fix for the “Marcus-Lancer” error messages reported by players.
The official Gears Community account confirmed that the issue was addressed and said the 15,000 Coins would not count towards players’ weekly coin cap. The compensation is intended for users who experienced problems accessing the game.
The team also addressed reports from players who continue to encounter a “You’re too early” message. According to the official guidance, players must meet both requirements to access the game through the Premium Edition Upgrade.
Players must either own the base version of Gears of War: E-Day through a direct purchase or personally have an active Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass membership. They must also own the Premium Edition Upgrade.
Players who purchased the Premium Edition Upgrade are therefore required to have the base game associated with the same account, either through a direct purchase or an active Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription.
Gears of War: E-Day is developed by The Coalition and published by Xbox Game Studios. The game is set 14 years before the original Gears of War and follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the initial emergence of the Locust Horde.
Gears of War: E-Day officially releases on October 6, 2026, for PC and Xbox Series X|S, with Premium Edition owners receiving five days of early access beginning October 1.
