Disney Plus and Hulu are taking different approaches to October, with Disney Plus focusing more heavily on family entertainment and Halloween specials while Hulu fills its schedule with horror, thrillers and returning favourites. The month begins with a particularly large selection of films on Hulu, including Barbarian, Soulm8te, the original Ghostbusters films, Edward Scissorhands and the Die Hard series.
Disney Plus, meanwhile, has Halloween-themed programming of its own. Big City Greens, Kiff and Phineas and Ferb all receive Halloween specials during the month, while Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Plus and Stick to Football are among the new Disney Plus series.
Hulu continues adding horror throughout October, with The Substance arriving on October 2, followed by Hereditary and Midsommar on October 3. Later additions include Companion and Wolf Man, while Marvel Studios’ VisionQuest arrives on Disney Plus on October 14. The Hunger Games films also make their way to Hulu that same day.
