October brings a particularly strong mix of new movies and television shows to Netflix, with the streaming service adding plenty of horror and thriller titles for Halloween season. The month begins with major catalogue additions including Psycho, Evil Dead, Friday the 13th, The Sixth Sense and the complete Twilight Saga.
Netflix is also adding several original productions throughout October. East of Eden arrives as a new limited series, while Animals, starring Ben Affleck, joins the film catalogue. Returning series include The Diplomat Season 4, Lupin Part 4 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2.
There is plenty beyond horror as well, with reality series, comedy specials and major films such as Heat, Gladiator and Gladiator II arriving later in the month. At the same time, several notable films and long-running series are scheduled to leave Netflix, including The Hunger Games films, Clueless, Gone Girl, Dawson’s Creek, Nurse Jackie and Poldark.
