Horror takes over HBO Max in October, with the streaming service loading up its catalogue for Halloween. October 1 brings the complete Nightmare on Elm Street series, along with Friday the 13th, Freddy vs. Jason, The Exorcist, The Shining, Trick ‘r Treat and Poltergeist.
There is plenty for viewers who prefer their scares with a little less intensity. Coraline, ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings and Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride offer more accessible stop-motion options, while Anatomy of a Fall, The Departed and the Ocean’s films provide some variety outside the horror lineup.
HBO Max also has several new originals and returning shows scheduled throughout the month. War premieres on October 1, followed by Rage Season 2 and The Housemaid on October 9. The Death of Robin Hood arrives on October 16, while Anyone But You joins the catalogue on October 20. With so many Halloween titles arriving at once, October 1 alone could keep horror fans occupied for quite a while.
