Gundam Rogue Orbit will launch on March 5, 2027, Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced. The new action game introduces an original timeline to the Gundam franchise and will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC via Steam, with pre-orders now available.
Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, Gundam Rogue Orbit follows humanity’s fight for survival against a mysterious threat known as the Apocalypse. Players take control of the Gundam Helix and its ace pilot RE-X as they battle across the solar system in fast-paced ground and aerial combat.
RE-X is accompanied by Vii, a Haro unit designed specifically to assist the Gundam Helix. The latest trailer also introduces several characters who will play roles in the story, including Sofia, a mysterious woman monitoring RE-X, and April, the captain of the Stellarvane, an independent special-duty vessel conducting operations against the Apocalypse.
Other characters include Big Paul, the leader of a group of sand pirates who target the Apocalypse and raid wealthy transports to provide supplies to settlers. Elaine is also introduced as a knight commander and highly skilled Mobile Suit pilot who leads her forces directly from the front lines.
Players will have extensive control over how their Mobile Suit is configured. Different weapons, frames, thrusters and Apocalypse Units can be equipped to create builds suited to different playstyles, while the Gundam Helix can also be given a custom colour scheme.
Each weapon has its own actions and skills, allowing players to adjust their approach as battles unfold across large ground and aerial environments. The trailer also provides a first look at additional customised Mobile Suits and a mysterious black Mobile Suit with glowing red eyes.
Several editions will be available at launch. The Standard Edition includes the base game, while the Launch Edition adds reversible cover art, an 11×17-inch poster and a Gundam Card Game promotional card.
The Deluxe Edition includes the base game alongside the Premium Mod Skins Set, a 14-colour Mobile Suit Color Pack, a digital artwork and music collection, and a Mission Reward Booster.
The Collector’s Edition includes the Launch Edition contents and all Digital Deluxe content, packaged in a steel case. It also includes an exclusive HG 1/144 ARK-10 GUNDAM HELIX Earth Blue version model kit and 5 Gundam Card Game promotional cards.
Players who pre-order Gundam Rogue Orbit will also receive early access to the Earth Blue colour customisation option.
