Halo Campaign Evolved Gets Exclusive Master Chief Skin, but There’s a Unique Requirement

Halo: Campaign Evolved players can unlock another free cosmetic for Master Chief, although this one comes with a unique requirement.

Xbox has partnered with UNiDAYS to offer the exclusive Shadowfrost Master Chief skin to eligible students. The promotion requires a verified student email through UNiDAYS and is currently available for a limited time, with the offer set to expire in 17 days.

Unlike the game’s other free cosmetic rewards, the Shadowfrost skin is not available through Halo Waypoint redemption codes or in-game challenges. Instead, players must claim it through the Xbox student offer on UNiDAYS before redeeming the reward.

The limited availability has already led to the cosmetic appearing on resale sites. Listings on eBay show the Shadowfrost skin being offered for prices ranging from around $40 to $150, despite the promotion itself being free for eligible students.

Players who are unable to claim the UNiDAYS reward still have several other free cosmetics available in Halo: Campaign Evolved. These include the Silver Anniversary Armour Style, which is unlocked the first time players access the game’s Customization menu, the Hidden Blade Armour Style available through the Discord Quest promotion, and the Damascus Prototype and Sandstone Ancient Armour Styles, both of which can be redeemed using free Halo Waypoint codes.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is Halo Studios’ Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign. Released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, the remake modernises the classic story with rebuilt visuals, expanded gameplay features and support for up to four-player cross-platform co-op while introducing a range of free cosmetic rewards to celebrate Xbox’s 25th anniversary.
