Speculation around Hollow Knight Silksong DLC has picked up after a brief exchange on social media, where a Team Cherry associate appeared to acknowledge a fan claim about upcoming content. The tease, while vague, has led many to believe that news related to the game’s post-launch plans could surface soon.
The discussion began with a tweet from user Hollow Shads on May 2, stating, “Reliable sources tell me Sea of Sorrow this month.” The message drew attention when Matthew Griffin, who handles marketing and publishing for Hollow Knight Silksong at Team Cherry, responded with a monocle emoji. That single reply has been widely interpreted by fans as a subtle hint rather than a dismissal, fueling talk that an announcement may be imminent.
Hollow Knight Silksong serves as the sequel to the original Hollow Knight, shifting focus to Hornet as the playable protagonist. The game takes place in the kingdom of Pharloom and introduces a more vertical structure compared to its predecessor. Combat is designed to be faster and more acrobatic, reflecting Hornet’s abilities, while a crafting system and a large roster of over 150 enemies are also part of the experience.
Team Cherry previously supported the original Hollow Knight with multiple free content packs that expanded the game with new bosses and modes. Siksong seems to be following a similar path with free updates and new DLC content after its launch.
