Kingdom Hearts IV is officially scheduled to launch in late 2027, with Square Enix confirming Disney and Pixar’s Coco as the first Disney world announced for the upcoming action RPG.

The news was revealed during the Disney Entertainment Showcase on August 14, 2026. The new adventure will take Sora to the Land of the Dead from Coco, expanding the game’s world selection with a setting based on the 2017 Pixar film.

Kingdom Hearts IV is currently available to wishlist on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Coco follows Miguel Rivera, a young boy whose passion for music conflicts with his family’s long-standing ban on the art. During the Day of the Dead, Miguel is transported to the Land of the Dead, where he searches for his great-great-grandfather and uncovers more about his family’s history.

The upcoming game is set in the mysterious reality of Quadratum and will continue the series following the conclusion of the Dark Seeker Saga.

While Kingdom Hearts IV remains some time away, Square Enix is also preparing the existing games for newer hardware.

The Kingdom Hearts collection, including HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX and 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 8, 2026.

The collections bring together the first nine stories of the Dark Seeker Saga and provide a way for new players to catch up with the series before Kingdom Hearts IV arrives in late 2027.
