Nintendo has confirmed that Kirby Air Riders update 1.3.4 will be released on November 5, 2026, after an in-game notification mistakenly informed players that the patch was already available. The company acknowledged the error through its Japanese support account on X and apologized for the confusion.
According to Nintendo Support Japan, some players may encounter a notification saying, “Update data: Distribution of Ver. 1.3.4 has begun.” However, the update has not yet been distributed, and players will need to wait until Thursday, November 5, for the actual release.
Nintendo explained that Kirby Air Riders update 1.3.4 is still scheduled to arrive at its usual update time. The company has not provided details about what changes or improvements will be included in the patch.
The announcement follows Nintendo’s recent decision to cancel the game’s Halloween event due to performance problems. The limited-time “Trick or Treat!” event began in late October and was originally scheduled to continue until November 4.
Players reported severe frame rate drops and occasional screen freezes during races, particularly when large amounts of cosmetic effects, item drops, and particles appeared simultaneously. Nintendo canceled the event on October 30 after it was unable to resolve the issues quickly.
The company previously confirmed that the Halloween content and its associated rewards would return in a future update once the performance problems had been addressed. It remains unclear whether version 1.3.4 will include any fixes related to those issues.
Kirby Air Riders launched on November 20, 2025, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios in collaboration with Masahiro Sakurai’s Sora Ltd., the game is a sequel to the 2003 GameCube release Kirby Air Ride.
The sequel retains the original’s single-button driving mechanics while expanding the character roster, introducing unique Special abilities, and adding more elaborate courses and updated game modes. It also marks Sakurai’s return to directing a Kirby game after more than two decades.
