LEGO Party has launched on Nintendo Switch 2, with developer SMG Studio, the LEGO Group and publisher Fictions also rolling out Update 1.6 for players across every platform. The latest update introduces several new features, including public online lobbies, additional game modes and new playable minifigures.
The Nintendo Switch 2 release means the party game is now available on Nintendo’s latest console alongside its existing versions on Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The launch is accompanied by the game’s largest content update yet, giving both new and returning players more ways to play together.
Update 1.6 introduces public lobbies, allowing players to host or join online matches with others around the world. Fans can jump into Challenge Zone or Minigame Rush playlists without needing to organise private sessions.
The update also expands Challenge Zone with 4 new game modes, while advanced game rules let players customise matches with optional modifiers, including Multi-Brick Purchase. Players will also be able to unlock and customise new characters based on LEGO Minifigures Series 29.
In addition to the new features, the update builds on previous post-launch content. Earlier additions include 2v2 versions of minigames, extra minifigures and Bonus Bricks, all of which remain available as part of the game’s growing selection of content.
LEGO Party! supports up to 4 players and features 60 minigames inspired by LEGO themes including LEGO Pirates, LEGO Space and LEGO NINJAGO. Players can compete locally or online, customise their minifigures and collect Golden Bricks while avoiding hazards scattered throughout each challenge.
