Sony and the LEGO Group have revealed the LEGO PlayStation, a new 1,911 piece set recreating the original PlayStation console and controller. The set will be released on October 1, 2026, and features several details and references drawn from the history of the iconic console.
The LEGO PlayStation is built at close to a 1:1 scale, with the completed console measuring 10.5 inches or 26 cm wide. Alongside the console itself, the set includes a LEGO replica of the original PlayStation controller.
The collaboration also incorporates references to two games that launched on the original PlayStation, with Ape Escape and Gran Turismo each receiving their own small diorama. The Gran Turismo display features a miniature racing track and scaled down cars, while the Ape Escape scene recreates an island setting with a monkey wearing a helmet that can be fitted with either a blue or red light.
The set includes several interactive elements as well. The console’s Power and Open buttons have functional mechanisms, while the controller can be connected to the console. Both game dioramas can also be removed from the main build and displayed separately.
The LEGO PlayStation will be available directly through PlayStation’s online store from October 1 in the US, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Portugal. LEGO Insiders will also receive Early Access from October 1, while general availability through LEGO.com and LEGO Stores begins on October 4.
The set will cost $179.99 in the US, €159.99 in Europe, £139.99 in the UK and ¥27,980 in Japan, including tax.
