MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is getting a new premium expansion later this year, with MARVEL Cosmic Invasion: The Siege of Castle Doom set to bring Doctor Doom into the spotlight. Publisher Dotemu and developer Tribute Games have confirmed that the DLC will launch in Fall 2026 for PC and consoles.
The expansion will introduce an entirely new game mode centred around Doctor Doom, along with 2 additional playable characters. Dotemu has also released the first teaser image for The Siege of Castle Doom, offering an early glimpse at the villain’s arrival.
The DLC will be available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The developers have not yet announced a specific release date within the Fall 2026 window.
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion launched with a roster of 17 playable Super Heroes, allowing players to switch between 2 selected characters during combat using the game’s Cosmic Swap system. The mechanic lets players combine different abilities while fighting through a story centred on Annihilus and his assault across the galaxy.
The original game features several major Marvel villains, including Thanos, M.O.D.O.K. and Taskmaster, who assist Annihilus in his attempt to spread the Annihilation Wave throughout the cosmos.
The Siege of Castle Doom will expand the game beyond its existing campaign with its new Doctor Doom-focused mode and additional characters. Dotemu and Tribute Games have not yet revealed the identities of the 2 new playable heroes or provided further details about the new mode.
MARVEL Cosmic Invasion is developed by Tribute Games and published by Dotemu, the teams previously responsible for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. The game combines arcade-style beat ’em up combat with a tag-team system and character designs inspired by different eras of Marvel comics.
