A new datamine of Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arc System Works’ latest fighting game, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, has revealed Rocket Racoon DLC, Classic and Legacy costumes for several characters, and details on the game’s Battle Pass.
A piece of in-game story text found in the files (via ResetEra member Neoxon) has Kamala expressing delight at seeing Groot and Rocket Racoon, while specifically noting that the latter is “future DLC.” This strongly all but confirms that the Guardians of the Galaxy character is planned as a post-launch addition to the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’ roster of fighters, though it’s tough to say when it will happen.
The files contain costume terminology pointing to Classic and Legacy outfits for several characters. Spider-Man, Green Goblin, Doctor Doom and Hulk are all represented in the relevant costume strings, suggesting players will eventually be able to equip alternate looks inspired by their established Marvel designs and eras.
Meanwhile, the Battle Pass data in the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls datamine provides a closer look at how the system works. Strings reference Battle Points, XP, level advancement, a reward list, a store, sets, purchase levels and Battle Pass boosts. The files also mention exchange tickets for alternate costumes, including messaging for insufficient tickets, as well as a completion bonus and an end-date field. The reward framework appears to cover character cosmetics and customization options such as avatars, avatar equipment, badges, battle stages, battle music, emotes, pets, rides, stamps, team poses, profile phrases and room customization. There are also entries for colors, character names and other in-game collectible items.
