Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games’ upcoming action-adventure game, Marvel’s Wolverine, has allegedly been leaked, but hacked PS5 consoles won’t be able to run the game for now.
Twitter/X user master_s9 claims to have access to a leaked build of the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine. According to them, it has a file size of 102.5 GB and it requires the PS5 to be on firmware version 13.60. As such, hacked consoles will not be able to run the game until a jailbreak version of the newer system software is available or it receives a backport for an earlier exploited firmware.
To prove that they have access to a leaked build of Marvel’s Wolverine, the aforementioned individual shared brief footage of the game installed on their PS5. The video can be seen below.
The footage shows that, despite having Marvel’s Wolverine installed on their PS5, they are unable to run it. Instead of showing the usual “Play Game” text on the icon used to run games, it reads “View Product.” Whether hackers will be able to backport this build to a jailbreak firmware version prior to the official launch in a little over a week remains to be seen.
As for the source of this leak, it’s possible that a retailer broke street date or a few physical copies were stolen. Either way, the individual’s evidence is compelling.
A prior leak for Marvel’s Wolverine revealed all 32 suits featured in the game alongside gameplay footage showing Logan’s ability to throw projectiles at enemies. The lineup of suits appears to draw heavily from the character’s comic book history, with several versions of his classic costumes represented alongside some unusual alternate takes. Among the most prominent outfits are the iconic brown-and-yellow costume, a classic animated-style suit, the Weapon X look, an X-Force costume, and a Midnight Sons-inspired outfit. The lineup also includes a Hellverine design, a techno-organic virus-inspired appearance, an Adamantium Skull-themed suit, a Winter Soldier-inspired outfit, and what appears to be a Horseman of Death variation.
