ATLUS has announced that Metaphor: ReFantazio will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026. The announcement was made during today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, where the publisher also revealed a limited-time Steelbook Edition that will be available at launch.
Developed by the team behind several acclaimed RPGs, Metaphor: ReFantazio places players in a fantasy kingdom facing collapse. As they navigate a world filled with uncertainty and mystery, players must overcome challenges, build relationships with allies, and shape the course of their own journey.
The RPG has already achieved significant commercial and critical success. ATLUS said Metaphor: ReFantazio sold one million units on its launch day, making it the company’s fastest-selling title to date. The game also earned widespread praise from critics, achieving a 94 score on Metacritic and securing multiple honors at The Game Awards, including Best Role-Playing Game, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction.
Nintendo Switch 2 owners will be able to experience the fantasy adventure later this year when it arrives on November 12. The game is currently available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
ATLUS also highlighted the growing reach of the franchise beyond gaming. Following a sold-out premiere in Japan in 2025, the official Metaphor: ReFantazio orchestra concert is heading on a world tour that will span three continents, six countries, and eight cities.
