Modern Warfare 4 Trailer Surpasses Modern Warfare (2019) Reveal Views in Just Over a Day

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is off to a massive start, with its reveal trailer surpassing the viewership of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s 2019 announcement trailer in little more than a day.

The trailer has now accumulated more than 42 million views, making it one of the strongest-performing reveal videos in the franchise’s history. The milestone highlights the level of interest surrounding Infinity Ward’s next entry in the Modern Warfare series ahead of its October 23, 2026 launch.

The performance continues a trend of increasingly explosive launch-day engagement for Call of Duty reveals. While Modern Warfare III’s announcement trailer took months to reach comparable figures on its primary channel, recent entries have generated significantly stronger early momentum. Black Ops 6, for example, attracted more than 37 million views during its first day, setting a high benchmark for franchise marketing.

Modern Warfare 4 appears to have exceeded those expectations. Interest in the game has been fueled by its darker campaign premise, which centers on a full-scale invasion of South Korea. The story follows a group of young South Korean soldiers fighting on the front lines of the conflict while Captain Price conducts an independent mission tied to the larger crisis.

The title also marks a significant shift for the franchise as a fully current-generation release. Infinity Ward is dropping support for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, allowing the studio to focus entirely on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

Beyond the campaign, Infinity Ward has promoted a more grounded multiplayer experience that moves away from the highly mobile “omnimovement” systems featured in recent entries. The game will also include a revamped version of DMZ, the extraction-based mode that debuted in Modern Warfare II.

The trailer’s rapid rise suggests that player interest remains exceptionally strong despite increasing competition from other major releases scheduled for late 2026. With more than 42 million views already recorded, Modern Warfare 4 has delivered one of the most successful reveal campaigns the series has seen and established itself as one of the industry’s most anticipated upcoming releases.
