Mortal Kombat 11 has received its first official gameplay trailer for Nintendo Switch and with the release date getting closer, more information about the game is making its way online.
Since Nintendo Switch is less powerful than the PS4 or Xbox One, the developers usually have to sacrifice visuals in order to make the game run on it. Early reports state that NetherRealm Studios opted for 60 FPS on the Nintendo Switch and this has led to a huge downgrade in visuals as expected from such a port.

While Mortal Kombat 11 looks fine on Nintendo Switch if you play it in the portable mode, once you dock and try it on the big screen, the visuals don’t look that good. There were a couple of comparisons made between the Nintendo Switch and PS4 or Xbox One version and they make it easier to see the sacrifices that the developers have made here.
YouTuber Kofi has an early copy of the Nintendo Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 and he has shared his impressions confirming that the game doesn’t look that good when you play it in docked mode.

Decided to test out Mortal Kombat 11 docked. Looks awful as I suspected lol. I swear most game on Switch look bad docked (beside a few first-party games) This why I never dock the system unless I'm streaming. The device is a better portable than home console.

So while the game can look decent if you play it on a smaller screen, it doesn’t hold up that well if you try to play it like a regular console in docked mode. The choice is up to the users whether they want a portable version or the bigger experience but it is not a bad port.
