A PlayStation State of Play could take place in September, according to industry insider NateTheHate, who says he is currently working to confirm the date. The potential presentation could provide updates on several upcoming PlayStation games that still do not have firm release dates.
NateTheHate was asked on X whether he had any information about a September State of Play. He responded that the event appears increasingly likely to happen soon, although the exact date has not yet been confirmed.
“Working to confirm the date; but a State of Play in September is looking incredibly likely and soon.”
Sony has not officially announced a September State of Play, meaning the event remains unconfirmed at this stage.
Several PlayStation Games Still Need Release Dates
A September presentation could give Sony an opportunity to provide release information for some of its upcoming projects. Among the games still without a confirmed release date are the upcoming God of War remake and Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
Both projects are among the higher-profile games currently associated with PlayStation, although Sony and the respective developers have not yet committed to specific launch dates.
Sony’s upcoming lineup also includes titles such as Marvel’s Wolverine and Phantom Blade Zero, alongside Grand Theft Auto VI, which is expected to be a major release for PlayStation.
With several projects still lacking firm launch information, a State of Play would provide Sony with an opportunity to clarify its upcoming release schedule and showcase more of its games.
