2K has issued the first wave of permanent bans against NBA 2K27 accounts found using cheats and scripts to gain an unfair advantage. The enforcement covers methods including shooting aids and other forms of input manipulation, with further bans planned.
The publisher had previously promised action against cheating in August, and says the latest bans are retroactive to the game’s first day of Early Access on August 26, 2026. Any account found to have used these methods since then is subject to a permanent account ban, while repeated cheating can result in a ban from the player’s console or PC.
2K says every ban is reviewed and confirmed before being applied. The first wave covers accounts confirmed so far, but the publisher says enforcement will continue as its detection capabilities are improved.
The company also stated that its detection systems will continue to evolve alongside new cheating methods, with additional capabilities already in development.
