Starfield has been in the news recently due to the Bethesda acquisition by Microsoft, and some screenshots have leaked for it online.
Starfield is an upcoming sci-fic RPG from the studio behind Skyrim, Bethesda Softworks. After Microsoft made the announcement that they have acquired Bethesda, some fans were left wondering what will it mean for the future of Starfield which, according to a new rumor, will be targeting a release in 2021.
The first leaked screenshot for Starfield was posted on reddit and while there is no way to determine if these were indeed from a debug build, they showed the UI and a third-person view of someone in space next to a building.
This was followed by another similar looking screenshot, but this time from a different angle. In a discord message, the alleged person who had leaked these screenshots added that the game will target a 2021 release window.
Starfield has been in development for a while now. Bethesda’s Todd Howard recently confirmed that the next Elder Scrolls and Starfield will be running on an updated version of their game engine allowing them to create vast open worlds.
The game was first shown during Bethesda’s E3 2018 press conference but it was a short teaser trailer. Since then, there have been bits and pieces of information on the project but nothing concrete when it comes to details.
