Amazon Games has released update 1.012 for New World: Aeternum, bringing adjustments to key gameplay mechanics, particularly in artifact perks and defensive abilities. The update is set to go live on March 19, 2025, at 11 PM PT, with an expected maintenance period of approximately 1.5 hours.
One of the notable changes in this update is the adjustment to The Wall Artifact’s Chromatic Ward Perk, which has seen a reduction in elemental base damage reduction from 25% to 13%. Additionally, the backend functionality that impacts an attacker’s block stamina damage after being hit has been modified from a 25% to a 13% reduction. Other balance tweaks include a reduction in the Refreshing Ward perk’s power on older named items at 625 Gear Score or lower and the addition of a cooldown timer to the One With the Shield passive for the Sword and Shield. A bug fix addressing crafting issues at the Well of Fortune has also been implemented.
