Nintendo has announced Pictonico!, a new mobile game that transforms players’ personal photos into a collection of comedic minigames. The free-to-start title is set to launch for compatible Android and iOS devices on May 28, with pre-registration now available.

According to Nintendo, Pictonico! allows players to use existing photos from their device or take new pictures directly for use in-game. The selected images are then integrated into a variety of minigames that place friends and family members into unusual and humorous scenarios.

The game features a wide range of activities, including zombie-themed challenges, carnival-style minigames, costume transformations, and other comedic situations. Nintendo says players will be able to see their photos appear in unexpected ways, such as relatives skydiving or performing unusual acts within the game’s animated environments.

Pictonico! launches with a selection of free minigames, while additional content can be unlocked through optional purchases. Nintendo confirmed that players will be able to access up to 80 minigames in total through additional volumes, with varying levels of difficulty.

The company also highlighted sharing features included with the app. Players can save their in-game moments as images or videos and share them with friends and family through their devices.

Nintendo described Pictonico! as a lighthearted experience centered around rediscovering old memories and photos through interactive gameplay. The game will officially release for smart devices on May 28.
