Marketing for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Shift Up’s action-adventure game, Stellar Blade, appears to have confirmed the existence of 32 GB game cards.
The pre-order trailer for Stellar Blade Complete Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2 has confirmed the existence of smaller 32 GB game cards. The physical edition shown in the marketing material prominently lists a “32 GB game card.” This is not an indication that the game itself is 32 GB in size. The stated size refers to the game card itself, not the file size of Stellar Blade. Nintendo’s eShop listing puts the game’s digital download at 25.4 GB, so it fits within the stated capacity.
The existence of 32 GB Switch 2 cartridges was originally revealed several months ago in December, 2025, when publisher ININ Games took to Twitter/X (via TiocStudios on Reddit) to corroborate a rumor surrounding the physical release of R-Type Dimensions III. The publisher stated, “There is no better timing: Two days ago Nintendo announced two new smaller cartridge sizes for Nintendo Switch 2. This allows us to recalculate production in a way that wasn’t possible before. As a result, we’ve made the following decision: The entire European and US production of R-Type Dimensions III for Nintendo Switch 2 will be released on a full physical cartridge.”
ININ later deleted the post, indicating that the information was not meant to be public at the time. The publisher also noted that cartridge production remained expensive. As a result, the retail and special editions would cost more than their digital counterparts. Stellar Blade’s marketing now provides a direct, on-product confirmation that smaller 32 GB cards are part of the Switch 2 physical ecosystem.
Stellar Blade Complete Edition launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. The game is also available for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. Players assume the role of Eve, the protagonist, who sets out on a mission to protect humanity in a distant future where Earth is under attack by an alien species known as the Naytibas.
