Nintendo Switch firmware has been updated to 10.0.1 and this software update is available to download now. Here’s what you need to know about it.
The last major firmware update for the Nintendo Switch was a jump to system software 10.0.0. This launched near the release of Animal Crossing New Horizons back in March. Nintendo has now followed it up with a minor firmware update that they claim will offer “general system stability improvements” as per the changelog.
This changelog doesn’t really reveal any meaningful details on what goes behind the scenes, but it does offer users a hope that there might be improvements made to enhance the user experience when it is usually not the case.
Nintendo Switch has continued to sell really well and it is on pace to become the best selling Nintendo hardware after the success of Wii. Nintendo is also having a stock shortage related to the production of the Switch hardware due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. They plan to boost production soon in order to meet the increased demand for their hybrid console.
The console has now sold through more than 52 million units worldwide as per the last update sales figure. It should surpass NES in sales by the end of this year.
