According to a tweet shared by the developers of the game, it has now gone gold. This is officially the last phase of development for a game. It means the final copy that has to be pressed and shipped on discs is made and after that, there are usually updates planned to launch on day one.
Nioh 2 going gold means there is no potential delay that can push its release date further from March 12. It will be out on the PS4 although there is a chance that this is just timed exclusivity and there will be a PC version later down the line.
ESRB has also rated Nioh 2 recently giving it a mature rating. The rating confirms that there will be plenty of violence, blood, and gore in the game. The rating also matches the first game so this wasn’t a big surprise.
