Moon Studios used Sony’s latest State of Play presentation to reveal a new trailer for No Rest for the Wicked and confirm that the action RPG’s full 1.0 release is scheduled for October 2026. The game will launch simultaneously on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, while Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are planned for a later date.
The announcement marks a major milestone for the studio’s dark fantasy action RPG, which has sold more than 1.8 million copies during its Early Access period. Ahead of the full release, the game is currently available on Steam Early Access at a limited-time 30% discount and can be wishlisted on supported platforms.
To celebrate the launch, Moon Studios is offering an Early Access Founder’s Pack for players who purchase the game on PC before July 10, 2026. The bonus package will also be available to PlayStation 5 users who pre-order the game before launch. The bundle includes an exclusive player home known as Spirit Cavern, the unique Sayer’s Vow sword, a Founder’s identification tag, and access to a dedicated public beta testing realm that will remain available after release.
According to Moon Studios, version 1.0 represents a substantial expansion of the game’s scope. The update adds more than 60 hours of additional content and significantly expands nearly every aspect of the experience. Players will gain access to more than 15 handcrafted regions filled with secrets, bosses, and interconnected pathways to explore.
The developer is also introducing a completely redesigned class and progression system intended to offer greater customization. Moon Studios says players will have much more freedom to shape their Cerim warrior, allowing different builds to emerge even when using the same weapons and equipment.
Multiplayer functionality is receiving major upgrades as well. Persistent private realms will allow players to share worlds with friends that continue evolving even when the original host is offline. Full cross-play and cross-save support between PC and console versions will also be available when the game launches.
The 1.0 release will conclude the main story arc that has been unfolding since Early Access began in 2024. Moon Studios says the finale will feature extensive cinematic sequences while resolving many of the narrative mysteries players have been discussing throughout the game’s development.
Endgame content is also being expanded with new activities aimed at experienced players, alongside a new horde mode, additional bosses, enemies, weapons, and combat options designed to extend replayability beyond the main campaign.
Developed by the team behind Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, No Rest for the Wicked combines soulslike combat with action RPG progression and a painterly visual style. Players assume the role of a Cerim warrior tasked with combating the Pestilence, a devastating plague spreading across the troubled island of Isola Sacra.
Following several major Early Access updates that introduced co-op multiplayer, PvP duels, and expanded gameplay systems, the upcoming 1.0 launch is positioned as the most significant update yet, transforming No Rest for the Wicked into its complete release version when it arrives on PlayStation 5 and PC this October.
