Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II are now available on Nintendo Switch 2, bringing Square Enix’s two HD-2D RPGs to Nintendo’s latest console with improved resolution and frame rates.
Both games are available individually on Switch 2, alongside their existing versions for Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Square Enix says the two titles have shipped and sold more than 7 million copies worldwide since the series debuted in 2018.
The original Octopath Traveler takes players across the continent of Orsterra, following eight protagonists with individual stories and motivations. Each character begins their journey in a different location, allowing players to determine the order in which they experience their stories.
Octopath Traveler II moves to the separate world of Solistia, where another group of eight travellers face their own journeys against the backdrop of a new industrial era. The sequel introduces new characters, features and gameplay elements while retaining the series’ HD-2D visual style.
The two games will also arrive on GOG for the first time on October 8. Square Enix will offer discounts on both titles from 12 a.m. PT on October 8 through midnight on October 18.
