Bandai Namco has announced a new chapter in the One Piece Pirate Warriors series. One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 is coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
One Piece Pirate Warriors is a spin-off based on the Samura Warriors series. It is a traditional Musou game where the player controls a single character while fighting hundreds more on the screen. Pirate Warriors 3 was the last major entry in the series that explained the One Piece story from the beginning until its last known major arc. It was first released for the last generation consoles and later ported to PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 will tackle the new story for the series. The announcement trailer is mostly cinematic and doesn’t seem to reveal gameplay but it does show that the visuals have been improved since the release of the last game.
Luffy the Pirate can be seen using his new powerups and moves while fighting the villains in the announcement trailer. The game usually has multiple playable characters so this should be the case for this new entry as well.
