Onimusha Way Of The Sword Surpasses 2 Million Wishlists

Onimusha: Way of the Sword has surpassed 2 million wishlists ahead of its launch on September 4, 2026. Capcom announced the milestone through the game’s official social media account, with just two weeks remaining before the new entry arrives.

The upcoming action-adventure marks the return of the Onimusha series to the mainline games after a 20-year absence. Capcom is developing and publishing the game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword follows legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi through a dark fantasy version of Edo period Kyoto, where he faces the demonic Genma. Combat focuses on third-person swordplay, with players relying on precise blocks, parries, and counterattacks during encounters.

Musashi will also have access to a mystical gauntlet capable of absorbing soul energy. This can be used to unlock powerful abilities as players progress through the game.

Capcom is also offering early adopter bonuses for players who pre-order the game ahead of its September 4 release. The 2 million wishlist milestone gives the upcoming Onimusha title a strong level of pre-release interest as it approaches launch.
