Persona 5 The Phantom X Adds Persona 3 Reload Event

by Greg Martin

SEGA has launched the Version 4.1 update for Persona5: The Phantom X on mobile and PC, introducing a major crossover event with Persona 3 Reload alongside a new playable version of Makoto Yuki.

The update’s centerpiece is Met by Moonlight Part 1, a special collaboration event that brings together characters from Persona5: The Phantom X and Persona 3 Reload. The story takes place during the mysterious Dark Hour, where players explore Tartarus and other familiar locations from Persona 3 Reload, including Paulownia Mall.

According to SEGA, the event follows Wonder, Riko, and Lufel after they travel to Port Island. Strange events eventually separate the group, leading Wonder into a labyrinth filled with Shadows. During the encounter, he is rescued by Makoto Yuki before the two join forces alongside Yukari Takeba to search for missing allies while exploring Tartarus.

Version 4.1 also introduces Makoto Yuki as a new 5-star Fire-attribute Assassin character available through the Most Wanted Phantom Idol Contract banner titled When Moon Reaches Stars. The banner runs until June 25, 2026.

SEGA describes Makoto Yuki as an offense-focused character capable of building Moon Phase stacks to unleash powerful attacks while also supporting the party with buffs. As a Persona 3 Reload crossover character, Makoto uses unique mechanics such as Assist actions and Theurgy abilities in place of traditional ranged attacks and Highlight skills.

Players can also purchase a limited-time Butler Makoto Yuki cosmetic set from the in-game shop. The bundle includes a Butler outfit, avatar, profile design, and profile frame at a discounted price of 2,880 Meta Jewels until June 25, after which the cost increases to 3,200 Meta Jewels.

The update arrives alongside a 1st Anniversary countdown campaign for Persona5: The Phantom X. Players who log in for seven days before June 4 can earn Platinum Tickets and Platinum Milicoins used for Contracts and Arms Deals. A separate Anniversary Special Daily Hoot-n-Loot event running from June through August will reward players with Meta Jewels and Wingbeat Coins over a 28-day login period.

SEGA also confirmed that players will receive a total of 600 Meta Jewels to celebrate the update and the official Version 4.1 broadcast presentation.

Outside of P5X itself, the publisher announced a temporary PlayStation Store discount for Persona 3 Reload. The game’s Digital Premium Edition is currently available at 60% off on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 until May 27, 2026.

Persona5: The Phantom X is currently available on mobile devices and PC.
