Sega has rolled out the Version 3.6 update for Persona 5 The Phantom X, introducing a new wave of content that brings a familiar face from Persona 5 Royal into the spotlight. The update is now available on mobile and PC, headlined by the arrival of Goro Akechi as a playable 5-star Phantom Thief.
Akechi, known by his codename Crow, joins the game as part of a new limited-time event titled Crossroads of Fate Laboratory Arc Part 2. The event continues the crossover storyline between The Phantom X cast and the original Phantom Thieves, featuring a new Palace to explore along with boss encounters and a range of unlockable rewards.
The story centers on Akechi’s unexpected appearance as a temporary ally, assisting the group as they attempt to escape a mysterious Palace while tracking a powerful Shadow. The event also promises to expand on character dynamics from Persona 5 Royal, offering additional insight into key moments involving Joker, Kasumi, and Akechi.
Players can earn event-specific currencies such as Unusual Rebel Coins, Gold Tickets, and Platinum Milicoins by progressing through stages and completing missions. These rewards can be exchanged for items or used in various in-game systems, including Contracts and Arms Deals. Additional activities, such as Jose’s Dicey Adventure and the Recollections of Fate boss battles, provide further opportunities to gather resources and unlock exclusive equipment.
Akechi is featured in a limited-time contract banner with increased drop rates, where he functions as a high-damage unit specializing in Almighty attacks. His abilities also include support options through Bless and Curse attributes, allowing him to enhance allies while weakening enemies. His associated 5-star weapon is also available through the Arms Deals system.
Outside of the crossover event, the update introduces a new Synergy Story focused on Manaka Nagao, expanding her character arc and exploring her personal struggles following earlier events in the main story.
To mark the release, Sega is offering a login bonus campaign that rewards players with Platinum Milicoins over seven days, along with a total of 600 Meta Jewels distributed as part of the update celebration and official broadcast campaign. Most limited-time content in the update will remain available until April 30, 2026, while Akechi’s featured banner runs through May 21, 2026.
With its mix of crossover storytelling, new gameplay challenges, and character additions, Version 3.6 represents one of the more substantial updates for Persona 5 The Phantom X to date.
