Pokémon Franchise Surpasses 515 Million Games Sold Worldwide

The Pokémon Company has updated its official franchise figures, revealing major new milestones across its video game and trading card businesses as of March 2026.

According to the updated numbers, total worldwide shipments for Pokémon video games have now surpassed 515 million units. The figure marks an increase of roughly 26 million units compared to the previously reported total of over 489 million.

The company also confirmed that the Pokémon Trading Card Game has now exceeded 85 billion cards produced globally, up from the previously reported 75 billion. The card game is currently available in 16 languages and distributed across more than 90 countries and regions.

Elsewhere, The Pokémon Company stated that Pokémon video games are now available in 10 languages, while the animated television series has aired in more than 190 countries and regions worldwide.

The updated statistics further highlight the continued global reach of the franchise nearly three decades after its debut. Originally created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1996, Pokémon has grown into one of the largest entertainment properties in the world through its games, anime adaptations, trading card game, films, merchandise, and mobile releases such as Pokémon GO.

The franchise continues to see consistent commercial growth across multiple business segments, with both software sales and trading card production showing major year-over-year increases.
