A jailbreak for PS5 firmware 13.60 has been released, supporting all consoles that haven’t yet been updated to version 14.00.
In his latest YouTube video, modding enthusiast and content creator MODDED_WARFARE revealed that a jailbreak for PS5 firmware 13.60 is now available. It uses the “relapse” exploit that was originally posted by modders Nathan Fargo and Sonic ISO. Consoles running firmware above 12.00 previously had to wait around 50 minutes to load the jailbreak, whereas the new method can reportedly load in just a few seconds. It’s worth noting that the new jailbreak applies to both the base and the PS5 Pro consoles.
In his setup guide, the content creator showed the process of loading payloads including Kstuff, ShadowMount Plus and ETA Hen, which provide functionality for running homebrew and game backups. He noted that additional projects, including a WebKit autoloader and a more convenient payload selector, were expected to receive updates. He also showed the process of installing homebrew applications and game backups from a USB drive. After a reboot, however, the jailbreak must be loaded again because PS5 jailbreaks are tethered. As such, installed applications become unavailable until the jailbreak is reapplied.

Recent developments in the PS5 homebrew scene allowed hackers to make significant progress toward expanding access to newer console software versions. The Slopkit is a project that is being prepared to support several newer PS5 firmware versions, opening the door to a WebKit-based entry point.
These files provide the addresses the software needs to locate functions and other components on different versions of the PS5 system software. This came alongside evidence of progress on another important part of the exploit chain. A screenshot shared by couldbeautism referenced a “Slopervisor proof for latest FW” and said that a hypervisor-defeated proof-of-concept was tested on firmware 10.00.
