PS5 system software version 26.06-14.00.00 introduces several new features and improvements, including enhanced PSSR image quality as a default setting on PS5 Pro, a new speaker indicator for voice chats, and the Community Activity widget for the Welcome Hub.
The update also adds new ways to discover popular multiplayer games through weekly activity statistics, while making changes to Bluetooth functionality on PS5 consoles and PS5 Pro consoles in certain countries and regions. As usual, the firmware includes general performance and stability improvements.

PS5 Pro PSSR Improvements
- Enhance PSSR Image Quality is now turned on by default on PS5 Pro
- After updating the system software, the setting will automatically be enabled
- Enhanced PSSR is now used even in games that support the previous version of PSSR, allowing for a sharper and clearer visual experience
- To turn off the feature, go to:
- Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > Enhance PSSR Image Quality
- This feature is available only on PS5 Pro
New Voice Chat Feature
- Added the ability to see who is speaking while you’re in a voice chat
- To enable the speaker indicator:
- Open the voice chat card in the Control Center
- Select More > Display Who’s Speaking
- Turn on Display Names
- You can also select Position to choose where the speaker indicator appears on the screen
New Community Activity Widget
- Added the Community Activity widget to the Welcome Hub
- The widget provides two different views:
- Trending Now displays ten multiplayer games or multiplayer modes that are currently surging in popularity. This can highlight new releases or games that have recently received major content updates.
- Top 10 displays the ten most popular games from the last week in your country or region, providing a way to discover games with large active communities.
Bluetooth Changes
- On PS5 consoles and PS5 Pro consoles in certain countries or regions, additional behavior has been introduced when Bluetooth is turned off
- If you go to Settings > Accessories > General > Advanced Settings and select Turn Off Bluetooth:
- The console does not enter rest mode
- HDMI Device Link does not function
- Sony says the Turn Off Bluetooth function is intended for managing controller connections at esports venues and similar locations and should not be used for other purposes
