A new comparison video has given fans a closer look at how different Rayman Legends Retold appears when placed alongside the original version of Rayman Legends.
The side-by-side comparison footage of Rayman Legends Retold highlights the extensive visual changes made for the upcoming release. While the original 2013 game featured a hand-drawn 2D art style, Rayman Legends Retold reimagines the experience with fully realized 3D visuals. The comparison showcases redesigned environments, updated character models, and significantly more detailed world geometry throughout the game.
Despite the major graphical overhaul, the remake retains the side-scrolling platforming gameplay that defined the original title. The new presentation is powered by Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine, allowing for a more modern visual approach while preserving the core structure of the classic adventure.
Rayman Legends Retold is being developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan and published by Ubisoft. The game is scheduled to launch on October 1, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The title serves as a ground-up reimagining of Rayman Legends, following Rayman and his companions as they travel through magical worlds to rescue trapped Teensies and defend the Glade of Dreams from a new corrupting villain.
