Remedy Entertainment saw its revenue jump 226% in the third quarter of 2026, helped by the launch of CONTROL Resonant, which has become the company’s fastest-selling game. According to Remedy Entertainment’s Q3 2026 earnings results, revenue reached €39.6 million between July and September, compared to €12.2 million during the same period last year.
The Finnish developer also returned to operating profit, posting €0.6 million compared to a €16.4 million loss a year earlier. That previous loss included a €14.9 million non-cash impairment related to FBC: Firebreak. EBITDA increased from €0.7 million to €6.8 million.
Game sales and royalties accounted for €35.3 million, representing 89% of quarterly revenue, up from €6.0 million last year. Development fees declined from €6.1 million to €4.3 million.
The successful launch came with higher expenses. Materials and services costs increased by €17.0 million to €20.0 million, largely due to royalties and platform fees. Marketing spending also contributed to a €5.4 million increase in other operating expenses, which reached €8.0 million. Operating cash flow was negative €0.1 million, while cash and liquid investments stood at €24.1 million.
CONTROL Resonant launched on September 24 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game surpassed one million copies sold by October 15, coinciding with its physical release. It currently holds a Metacritic score of 83 and a user score of 8.8, alongside 91% positive reviews on Steam.
The United States was the game’s largest market, accounting for more than 45% of sales across PC and consoles. Digital sales were split approximately 55% on PC and 45% on consoles, with Steam and PlayStation leading their respective platforms.
Chinese-speaking regions ranked second for PC sales, while the United Kingdom and Canada followed the US on consoles. Brazil also placed among the top three console markets by units sold.
Remedy said nearly half of CONTROL Resonant’s players were newcomers to the franchise. The game also has 2.4 million outstanding wishlists, suggesting considerable interest among players who haven’t purchased it yet.
The Remedy Entertainment Q3 2026 earnings results also showed continued sales from the company’s older releases. The original Control, which has reached more than 20 million lifetime players, sold more copies during the quarter than in either of the first two quarters of 2026. Alan Wake 2, which has sold more than three million copies, continued generating royalties, while FBC: Firebreak brought in less revenue during its second year.
For the first nine months of 2026, Remedy recorded €62.9 million in revenue, an increase of 48.2%, although it still posted an operating loss of €2.3 million for the period.
The company has maintained its full-year guidance, expecting both revenue and EBITDA to increase in 2026. Development continues on the Max Payne 1&2 remake, which remains in full production, while another unannounced project is in production readiness.
Remedy is also targeting twice its 2024 revenue by 2027, alongside an EBITDA margin of 30% by the same year.
