Resident Evil 4 Remake The Mercenaries Guide: All Characters, Stages, Unlockables & More

The Mercenaries update for Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 Remake is now available, and here are all the characters, stages, and unlockables that the mode has to offer.

The Mercenaries mode in Resident Evil 4 Remake is single-player only, and it features 4 playable characters, 3 stages, and some rather useful unlockables. Much like in the original, every character has their own The Mercenaries theme. According to Dusk Golem, who is known for his contacts in the game industry, an update for Mercenaries is planned for closer to the release of the Separate Ways DLC. It is said to add four additional characters, an additional stage, and a new “Extreme” mode.

The Mercenaries Playable Characters

The list of playable characters featured in The Mercenaries mode in Resident Evil 4 Remake at launch are as follows:

  • Leon
  • Luis
  • Krauser
  • Hunk

The aforementioned additional characters that, as per Golem, will be added at a later date, include Leon (Mafia outfit), Ada, Ada (original Resident Evil 4 outfit), and Wesker.

The Mercenaries Stages

The list of stages featured in The Mercenaries mode in Resident Evil 4 Remake at launch are as follows:

  • The Village
  • The Castle
  • The Island

The additional stage that Golem mentioned is likely to be The Docks. Its name and description were uncovered via a recent datamine.

Unlockables In Resident Evil 4 Remake The Mercenaries

Those who complete all three of The Mercenaries stages with an S rank will receive the hand cannon weapon as a reward. However, players will need to speed 1000 CP in the content shop before they can use it in their playthrough. Once unlocked, it will be available at any typewriter storage. Alternatively, the hand cannon can also be unlocked by finishing the main campaign in Professional mode with an S+ rank.

Previously, the aforementioned had dataminer revealed the presence of game files related to the Separate Ways DLC, which has yet to be officially announced by Capcom. It is expected that the publisher will be making an announcement in this regard, as well as details on pricing, in the weeks to come.
