Capcom has confirmed that there will be two different modes for Resident Evil Village, one focusing on graphics and the other on performance.
Resident Evil Village is out on May 7th. Capcom has recently announced a REShowcase that will share more information on the game, in addition, a demo was discovered to have been uploaded to the official PlayStation servers which suggest that this might be the second combat-focused demo that Capcom had teased earlier this year.
In a new interview that was published in the Official PlayStation Magazine May 2021 Issue, the game director Morimasa Sato shared some insight on the PS5 features that they have planned for the game.
Talking about the different gameplay modes like in Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition, Sato confirmed that Resident Evil Village will offer something similar. “There are settings which will allow each player to optimize the experience according to their preference.”
Sato further explained how they are utilizing the additional power offered by the PS5 hardware to make the game better since it is also releasing for the PS4 and Xbox One.
“We’re putting the high-performance power of the PS5 to full use to create a realistic experience of this terrifying village, ” said Sato.
“There are a lot of exterior scenes in the game and in the past, it’s been challenging to produce great-looking visuals for areas like this while maintaining performance, but it’s been a breeze with PS5. I feel like the possibilities of what I can express in a game have been expanded.”
Resident Evil Village is currently set to launch on May 7, 2021, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC.
