Rockstar Games has announced that owners of any PlayStation 4 version of Grand Theft Auto V and the digital Xbox One version of the game will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S editions at no additional cost beginning tomorrow.

The free upgrade will allow players to access the latest console versions of both Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online ahead of the release of The Kortz Center Heist update.

According to Rockstar, the current-generation versions feature a range of technical enhancements, along with support for migrating Story Mode and GTA Online progress. Players will also gain access to features such as Hao’s Special Works performance upgrades and vehicles, Career Progress rewards, and additional gameplay improvements introduced on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

PC players can also access the latest version of the game by upgrading from the Legacy edition to the Enhanced edition at no extra charge. The Enhanced version includes all current-generation content as well as PC-exclusive features, including ray-traced ambient occlusion and global illumination.

Rockstar also confirmed that GTA+ subscribers can now access Grand Theft Auto V’s Story Mode through the GTA+ Games Library. The subscription already includes access to GTA Online.

The free upgrade offer for eligible PS4 and digital Xbox One owners begins tomorrow, providing players with access to the most feature-complete versions of Grand Theft Auto V currently available.
