Rumor Points to Princess Peach Movie in Development at Illumination

A new rumor suggests Nintendo could be moving forward with a Princess Peach movie, with early development work reportedly underway at Illumination. The claim stems from details found on a LinkedIn profile belonging to an employee at Illumination Studios Paris, later shared by a known insider online.

The insider, posting under the name D001, stated, “THE PRINCESS PEACH MOVIE IS SEEMINGLY BEING RIG DESIGNED RIGHT NOW AT ILLUMINATION,” pointing to the profile as evidence. According to the listing, the employee is currently աշխատing as a Senior Character Rig Designer on an “Untitled P P Movie,” a role that began in April 2026. The same profile indicates the individual recently completed work on another project, referred to as an “Untitled P O Movie,” which concluded in April 2026.

The listing describes both projects as CG films, though no official confirmation has been provided regarding their connection to Nintendo or its properties. The mention of an untitled project with initials matching Princess Peach has led to speculation that a standalone film centered on the character may be in production.

Rumors surrounding Nintendo expanding its film efforts have surfaced multiple times in recent months. Earlier reports claimed that several projects tied to its franchises are at different stages of development. One such claim suggested that “A Kirby movie is in early development,” alongside other projects including a Donkey Kong film reportedly targeting a 2028 release and a third Mario film planned for 2029. Additional titles mentioned in the same rumor include Star Fox, Luigi’s Mansion, and Yoshi’s Island, as well as a possible Super Smash Bros. movie said to be planned for a later date.

Nintendo and Illumination have not commented on the recent claims regarding a Princess Peach movie. As with similar reports, the information remains unconfirmed and should be treated with caution.
