Shadow of Mordor follows Talion, a ranger who is resurrected by a mysterious spirit after losing his family. The game features the Nemesis System, which creates individual enemies that can level up, adapt and remember encounters with the player. The Game of the Year Edition includes the Lord of the Hunt and The Bright Lord campaign expansions, alongside additional warband missions, runes and character skins.
Shadow of War continues the story with players forging a new Ring of Power and attempting to conquer fortresses across Mordor. Its Definitive Edition includes the Sword of Dominion bonus weapon, along with the Desolation of Mordor and Blade of Galadriel story expansions and the Slaughter Tribe and Outlaw Tribe Nemesis expansions.
The Switch 2 version of Shadow of War is designed for offline play, with the Garrison allowing players to reassign undeployed Orc followers between regions. Online Conquests, Vendettas, Fight Pits, Chests and Training Orders are not available in this version.
