Shenmue III Enhanced Edition has been delayed to early 2027, with publisher ININ Games and developer Ys Net taking additional time to finalise the upgraded version of the action-adventure game. The announcement confirms that the release will arrive later than previously planned, although a specific launch date has not been provided.

In a statement, the team acknowledged the anticipation surrounding the enhanced release and said development was progressing while the remaining details were being finalised.

“We’re well aware that you’re eagerly awaiting the chance to see Ryo shine like never before, for the first time on several modern consoles,” the statement reads. “Development is taking time to get everything right, and we’re making great progress while finalizing the last details.”

The team added that more information would be shared soon and confirmed that the game is now expected to launch in early 2027.

Announced in late 2025, Shenmue III Enhanced Edition is an upgraded version of the 2019 game. It is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2, bringing Ryo Hazuki’s journey to additional modern platforms.

The enhanced release is set to feature improved visuals and frame rates, shorter loading times, increased NPC populations, refined controls and quality-of-life improvements. It will also offer a modern camera option alongside settings intended to preserve the original experience.

Shenmue III originally launched on November 19, 2019, for PlayStation 4 and PC. Developed by Ys Net, the game continued Ryo Hazuki’s search for his father’s killer, picking up the story following the events of Shenmue II.
