Street Fighter Movie Suffers 72% Box Office Drop in Second Weekend

by Salal Awan

The 2026 Street Fighter movie suffered a steep decline at the US box office during its second weekend, earning an estimated $8.6 million across 3,575 locations. The Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment production fell 72.1% compared with its opening weekend, bringing its domestic total to approximately $46.94 million.

The latest figures mark a weaker second-weekend hold than that of Mortal Kombat II. The 2026 fighting game adaptation earned $13.4 million in its second weekend, representing a 65.2% drop from its opening frame.

Street Fighter opened with $31 million domestically and approximately $51.1 million worldwide. Its domestic earnings have since climbed to nearly $47 million, while its international box office stands at an estimated $20.1 million.

According to figures from The Numbers, the film’s worldwide total has reached approximately $67.04 million. Despite its opening-weekend success, the sharp decline in its second frame suggests that it has struggled to maintain the initial audience turnout.

The film’s second-weekend performance also puts it behind Mortal Kombat II in terms of its hold after opening. Both movies adapt established fighting game franchises, but Street Fighter experienced a more pronounced drop in attendance during its second weekend.

Based on its current trajectory, the film is projected to finish its domestic theatrical run in the $60 million to $65 million range. That estimate remains subject to change as the film continues its theatrical run.

Released in theatres on October 16, 2026, Street Fighter is Paramount and Legendary’s live-action reboot of Capcom’s long-running fighting game franchise. Its box office performance will depend on how well it retains audiences in the coming weeks.
