Konami has revealed new Silent Hill Townfall PS5 Pro details ahead of the game’s launch on September 24, confirming enhanced visuals, multiple graphics modes and expanded DualSense features for Sony’s upgraded console.
On PS5 Pro, Silent Hill: Townfall will offer two display options: a 30 FPS Quality Mode and a 60 FPS Performance Mode. The game also takes advantage of the console’s upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology to deliver higher-resolution visuals, while ray tracing is used to create the atmospheric environments found throughout both the fog-covered town and the eerie Otherworld.
Developer Screen Burn said it visited and photographed real coastal towns in Scotland to recreate the appearance of St. Amelia, the game’s setting. The title also uses a 2.35:1 aspect ratio, giving the psychological horror adventure a more cinematic presentation.
The PS5 version also makes extensive use of the DualSense wireless controller. Haptic feedback is designed to add weight to combat encounters, from melee strikes to blocking enemy attacks, while motion controls are integrated into several gameplay mechanics.
When using the in-game CRTV device to search for signals from radios and other equipment, players can physically rotate and tilt the DualSense controller to tune into broadcasts. Motion controls can also be enabled while using firearms, allowing players to fine-tune their aim by moving the controller.
Silent Hill: Townfall launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC on September 24.
